Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been clear to Melany Blackwell, CEO of Liberate Learning (Liberate), that it is more important than ever for the world community to band together during difficult times. Melany ardently believes that everything we can do to support each other, keep each other informed, and keep us all safe makes a massive difference to our medical systems and first responder systems in coping with increased numbers of emergencies.
At the start of the pandemic, using Liberate’s flagship product, App-eLearn, Liberate quickly created online applications designed to keep thousands of staff safe when working from home, or when working as a front-line worker. The various online learning applications addressed ergonomic, self-care, social and emergency planning matters.
With a desire to help other COVID-19 affected organisations, Liberate, and its subsidiary App-eLearn, have offered the App-eLearn authoring tool free until further notice. This resource has assisted organisations to pivot to digital development and create learning resources that will keep their staff safe, or even pivot to adopt digital transformation. Other virtual reality learning resources Liberate created were used by universities to help attract international students who are unable to fly to Australia, in addition to creating training to support thousands of school teachers during the pandemic.
App-eLearn also enables creation of online and digital content that can be accessed from any device, including mobile phones, without technical expertise or outside contractors. This in turn supports organisations to train staff swiftly and consistently in new working practices and safe models of operating. Indeed the Australian Department of Human Services have been using App-eLearn to create resources to train frontline workers in revised safety processes. All told, millions of first responders and essential service retail training completions have been recorded using Liberate’s free learning resource, App-eLearn.
These are dire times and Melany knows that in App-eLearn, Liberate has a tool and a critical service that allows rapid development of eLearning and deployment of online content quickly and easily. Melany hopes many more people will take up Liberate’s offer, which she has given in the spirit of helping our world community.
