Happy HR! This is the office’ everyday greeting. A simple tagline that became the heart of every HR innovations aimed at enhancing employee morale and government integrity. It became the guide to the very purpose of HR's existence in the public sector. The MISSION: A friendly workplace that aims to provide a responsive service to a happy customer. The way to achieve this mission is to take care of the Human Resource because a Happy HR makes a Happy Customer!
Inspired by this principle, the Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO) General Santos City has reinvented its plans and programs aligned to this direction. It serves as a link between human resource management and the overall strategic plan of the city government.
Several programs were then established to make sure that every aspect of human resource whole-being is taken-care of. These cover physical, social, spiritual, mental, health, safety, environmental, livelihood and financial wellness of every employee. Below are the major innovative programs implemented:
A holistic Talent Management Program framework (ctrl + click to follow the link) is designed not only to ensure talent retention but also involved intensive talent development and training.
Harmonizing Relationship through Motivation and Development. The innovative strategy was crafted by placing employee welfare foremost in its priorities through the Live-Work-Play philosophy. This philosophy of motivation through rewards has given a new meaning to employees’ lives and existence. The Gabi Ng Parangal, Retirees Travel Abroad are among the many innovations.
Line of Sights – strategic directions towards HRMDO goals of an innovative and collaborative employee engagement where employees are enthusiastically attached to their roles. These directions also include HR Cares and HR Academy.
The 3 Ps Amidst Pandemic (Covid Response) The Bold, cohesive, and positive HR interventions that made employees remain hopeful during the Pandemic.
2021 Reinventing People Experience through Technology.
The HaPPy HR application, an online application designed to enable employees
to access online services of the HR especially in this time of pandemic such as online time
monitoring system for those who have availed of the Alternative Work Arrangement (AWA),
online leave application, and many others including employee engagement.
These are just some of the various innovative programs of the HRMDO. Its careful planning, policies and execution have given awards and recognition to the department both national and international. Below are the major awards received:
CSC PRIME – HRM Level 2 Maturity Accreditation (Bronze Award)
This award is given by the Civil Service Commission to government agencies who have shown exemplary practice in Human Resource to elevate public service delivery.
PMAP – PEOPLE PROGRAM OF THE YEAR, PEOPLE MANAGER OF THE YEAR, EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS
These HR Innovations also conquered PEOPLE PROGRAM OF THE YEAR, PEOPLE MANAGER OF THE YEAR, PEOPLE EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS during the 43rd People Management Association of the Phils Annual Awards in 2019. HRMDO GENSAN won Employer of the Year Award and People Manager of the Year Award both National Level and the People Program of the Year Award Regional Level.
DAP – Government Best Practice Recognition – HIGH PERSONAL EFFECTIVENESS THROUGH RESOURCE ALLOCATION. (Hi-PERA)
In 2020, the Development Academy of the Philippines has conferred the department the Government Best Practices Recognition for its HI-PERA program which aimed to help employees alleviate their financial status and capabilities.
HR EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2020 (UK) – HIGHLY COMMENDED BEST HR STRATEGY FROM OVERSEAS
The office was also conferred with Highly Commended Best HR Strategy from Overseas during the 2020 HR Excellence Awards in London, United Kingdom.
