To continue to lead in the digital age, Accenture began its global digital transformation as early as 2012, revolutionizing its strategy, leadership, branding and even its people. In the Philippines, Accenture has been rapidly transforming to keep pace with the needs of its business, people and clients.
INNOVATE FOR BUSINESS
Recognizing the need for reinvention, Accenture changed its core business and services, focusing more on new and emerging technologies, including cloud, artificial intelligence, blockchain and immersive experiences. It also started providing As-A-Service solutions to clients and investing in acquisitions to help drive innovation. Innovation has also helped Accenture become more energy efficient. It achieved 60% energy efficiency by replacing 15,000 bulbs with LED bulbs in 135 floors in its facilities, and 30% efficiency by re-engineering LAN room air-conditioning units. It also built a Workplace Command Control Center (a first in Accenture globally) to help monitor energy consumption 24/7. For these efforts, Accenture was awarded the PEZA Environmental Performance Award in 2019, a first for an IT-BPM and non-manufacturing company.

In order to provide our clients with new services and experiences, our 55,000+ strong workforce needed to upskill and learn new technologies. We developed learning roadmaps using digital platforms, mobile solutions, collaboration tools and experiential learning initiatives allowing our people to upskill faster and with more flexibility.
In Fiscal Year 2019, we spent close to USD 5 million on training and our employees clocked in 1.87 million learning hours resulting to 85% of our workforce to be knowledgeable on new technologies and more than 40% are ready to take on new roles involving new technologies. We established a suite of accessibility solutions to support our Persons with Disability (PWD) employees. The first of its kind in Accenture’s global network, the area offers innovative technologies that address the unique needs of individuals with hearing, speech, vision and mobility challenges. We also partnered with the industry, academe and government to help students, particularly underprivileged youth, gain important skills for employment. Programs such as Skills to Succeed, Near-Hire Training Program and Passerelles Numeriques Dual Training Program aim to equip beneficiaries with customer service or IT technical skills and soft skills to increase their employability.
